Eleanor M. Slutter

Eleanor M. Slutter, 83, of Stroud Township, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2025 at Abington Manor in Clarks Summit where she was a resident since February.

Born on February 15, 1942 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late George and Ethel (Stout) Slutter and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

She worked as a bookbinder at Hughes Printing in East Stroudsburg and was also a caregiver for many friends.

Eleanor was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Stroud Township and enjoyed knitting, painting, playing BINGO and going to local fairs.

Surviving are a sister, Arlene Rake of Meshoppen; three nieces, Sally Schermerhorn, Michelle Kelly and Stephanie Hummill; a nephew, John Sphar; a great niece, Nicole Hummill; many great great nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Jodie Strunk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Slutter and a sister, Helen Rothermell.

A memorial service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church and will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the church at 1160 Clause Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the William H. Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg.
