Obituary
John Ferich, 94, beloved by all his family, passed away March 5, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jeanne, brother, George, and parents Anton & Milina.
John is survived by his 6 children, Barbara (Dave) Robinson, Beverly Ferich, Deborah (John) Lauderdale, Diana Ferich, John M. Ferich, Judy Ferich, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
John was a man of faith, and a great love of his family. He was a great artist, and enjoyed painting wall murals in his younger years. He worked as a professional painter for many years. He later became a certified Kitchen Designer, before retiring. In recent years John painted each of his children a different oil paintings as gifts.
He loved watching sports, especially basketball, and so enjoyed going to the high school playoffs with his nephew Michael. He became an avid golfer, beginning at mid-life. He had volunteered at Edwin Shaw golf course. John loved reading suspense and mystery novels in retirement, he had learned how to use an electronic tablet to read his books in recent years. His favorite past time with his many different friends at the Villa over nearly 18 years, was playing cards, which brought him much joy and "frustration".
A Memorial Mass will be held for John, Tuesday, March 14th, at 11:00 am at S. Paul's Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, OH. Friends will be received by John's children 1/2 hour prior to the service at the church. Internment will be at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery
