John Edward Fimple, 93, of Fairmont went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 07, 2025, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Elkins on March 24, 1932, a son of the late Edward Caleb and Mabel Jane Luzier Fimple. John proudly served his country in the United States Army, then later retired from the Owens-Illinois Factory. He later became a Bible Methodist and Wesleyan Methodist Minister in Savannah, Tennessee; Wickes, Arkansas; Buchannon, West Virginia; and Woolen Mills, West Virginia. He also worked at a meat processing plant in Tennessee. He loved gardening and was well known for his greenhouse and beautiful plants he grew and gave to friends and family. John was most known as a Christian man who loved his God and loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Emma Colleen VanGilder Fimple; two sons Steven Fimple and his wife Samantha, Mark Fimple and his wife Carla; three daughters Mabel Calhoun and her husband Allen; Joyce McCord and her husband Herb, and Janet Grant and her husband Brian; grandchildren Joshua, Kristen, Caleb, Steven, Isaiah, Shane, Savanna, and Lindsey; great grandchildren Bella, Zachary, Cassidy, Ellie, Paisley, Slade and Presley; several neices and nephews; John was the last survivor of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Anabelle, Rosalie, Lorraine, Eileen, Frances, Mabel, Stanley, and James; and one grandson Nathan. Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Sunday, November 09,2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, November 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Yoder officiating.
