Marie Pearl Hornick

Marie Pearl Hornick, 96, of Fairmont, WV, passed away on Thursday November 6, 2025. Marie was born on May 2, 1929, in Webster County, WV the daughter of late Clyde and Lena (Moats) Riffle.
Marie was a cook at Stauds's Restaurant and was later the owner/operator of Frosty's Cream. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church and loved the Lord, tending her flowers and watching birds. Her favorite bird was her parakeet Brody.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jerry Wayne Hornick, Roger Alan Hornick (Julie), Carolyn Sue Henderson (Donald), Debra Lynn Monroe (Ron), Cheryl Annette Fast (Jamie), two sisters Shirley Anderson and Thelma Ware, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her husband Ralph Hornick, brother Harold Riffle, sisters Gatha Goode, Anna Riffle and Rosalie Rambo.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Tygart Center and Amedysis Hospice for their love care of Marie. Also, the pastors who faithfully ministered to her over the years: Pastor Shaw, Pastor Stevenson, Pastor Mark & Donna Kuenzi and Pastor Jason Lucy.
Family and friends can gather at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Tuesday November 11, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday November 12, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Pastor Bobby Bosler will be officiating, and a burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
