John Fitzgerald Fleming, on Monday, August 25, 2025, peacefully departed this life at his home at age 61. John is survived by his wife of 36+ years, Lucy Mayfield Fleming, children; Nickoya J. Virgil of Katy, TX (Onengiye Ofori Davies), Johnisha Darlene Fleming (Jireh J. Brown, Sr.), Elijah John Fleming, of Newport, VA; grandchildren; NaJaiyah B. Virgil, Victoria E. Johnson, Jireh J. Brown, Jr., Datonye I. Davies, and Jordan J. Brown; siblings, Charles E. Aubert (Debra), Diane F. Collins [Larry, Sr.], Sterling Fleming, Sr. (Patrice), Zachary Fleming, Denise F. Holmes (Anthony, Sr.), Clarence Fleming, III (Catina), Daphne Fleming (Ann), Lucritia F. Powell (Shannon), Eric Fleming, Wanda F. Royal (Rodney) and Yolanda F. Collins (Edward). John was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Clarence Fleming, Jr., and Mrs. Rose Dell Aubert Fleming; grandparents, John Aubert and Leola Stovall Aubert, Reverend Clarence Fleming, Sr., and Lucillie Williams Fleming; father-in-law, Reverend Norden Mayfield, Sr. and mother-in-law, Darlene Marion Francis Mayfield. A host of uncles, aunts, great-uncles and aunts, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, godchildren, in-laws, bonus brothers, other relatives, and friends. Family, friends, Pastor Robert Brown and the Ray Avenue Baptist Church family, Pastor Jamal Weathersby and the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church family, employees of the J.W.
