John LeeRoy Ford Sr., 75, passed away April 20, 2022 in Harrisville, Utah. He was born October 17, 1946, in Montrose, Colorado to John and Pearl Ford.
He attended school in Colorado, graduating from Hotchkiss High School in 1964. He later moved to Mesa, Arizona where he met the love of his life Linda June Ford, they married December 24, 1966. They moved to Utah and spent the rest of their days at their home in Harrisville. LeeRoy and Linda would spend their time together traveling and spending their 50th anniversary in Hawaii.
LeeRoy served in the US Army during the Vietnam and Desert Storm era, retiring in 1994. He went to work at Nutraceutical as a Facility Production Maintenance Mechanic, retiring in 2009.
He loved to hunt with his brother Stan and many family members, and loved to tinker out in his garage, making jewelry for the 'Broad Squad', putting model airplanes and puzzles together. LeeRoy also loved riding his Harley when he got the chance.
LeeRoy was the perfect Santa along with his wife, Linda as Mrs. Claus. They were the Santa to many families over the years, and many times they rode in the sleigh as Mr. & Mrs. Santa in the Ogden Parade to turn on the lights at Ogden's Christmas Village.
LeeRoy is survived by his children; Will (Mary) Ford; Trina Ford (Janet), Bud (Tracy) Ford, brother Ken Ford, many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert Ford and David White.
A viewing will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, 11 am – 1 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, with graveside services at 1:30 pm, Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
There will be a 'Santa's Last Ride', anyone wanting to participate to lead the funeral procession on your motorcycle please be at Myers Mortuary by 1:00 pm.
LeeRoy's graveside service will be livestreamed. To watch scroll to the bottom of his obituary at www.myers-mortuary.com at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 30, 2022. If unable to watch at this time his services will be on the website indefinitely.
