John Forlano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Aug. 4, 2025.
Long Island Native and Proud U.S. Army Veteran

John Forlano, 98, originally from Long Island, New York, and a longtime resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully with Jolene, John & Janelle by his side.

John was the beloved husband of the late Rose Forlano and the devoted father of five late children: Carmela, Margaret, Rosemarie, Junior, and Georgina. He is survived by and was a cherished grandfather to Jolene Forlano, John Capasso and seven other grandchildren; great-grandfather to Antonio and Janelle; and great-great-grandfather to Abriella and Armani.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and continued a life of hard work and dedication, retiring from both the Laborers Union and the Town of Islip.

John had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed crabbing at the marina where he once worked and never missed a Mets game. He was a passionate wrestling fan, often watching matches with his grandchildren, and he loved engaging in spirited political discussions as a proud supporter of President Donald Trump.

John's legacy lives on through the generations of his family and the many memories they shared together. He will be remembered for his strength, devotion and unwavering love for his family.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday August 11, 2025 at 1PM at Florence National Cemetery, 803 E National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC 29506.
