My daughter lived next to John. When I came up (from Florida), I went over to talk with John (my father worked at the Binghamton Press in the 1950's with my father) and talked on kinds of topics. We always went to the Park Dinner on Conklin rd. Very sad to say I lost a truly great friend. Maurice Hitt

I will miss John! We would travel up to my daughter's home which was next door to John. We would talk for hours. We had to go to the Park Diner, either breakfast or lunch. One time we went to "the spot". He will be in our prayers.
Roberta (Wackett) Plunkett, Exhibitions Staff at Roberson Museum
June 13, 2022
My father, Gordon Wackett, knew Mr. Fox at Syracuse University, where they were students in the School of Journalism. My dad, who passed away in 2006, had said they played tic tac toe during some boring lectures. (Coincidentally, my dad was also a writer at the Press in the 1950s.) Years later, Mr. Fox was our lead consultant and script writer on a sports exhibit at Roberson Museum entitled "Champions." I will never forget his incredible writing skills, sharp memory for every detail, generosity in giving of his talents, nor his kindness and humanity. Please accept our condolences.

As I told Mr Fox I learned to love reading following him and Tom Cawley in the press
We would occasionally have lunch together before covid and I always left both entertained and enlightened
