Joshua D. Smith

Joshua David Smith, 49, of Liverpool, NY, went to his heavenly home on March 12, 2026. He was born on October 2, 1976, in Newton, Kansas, to Dan and Nancy Smith. Joshua was known for his remarkable musical talent and abilities. He earned his master's degree in music from Syracuse University and went on to work as an educator and musical artistic director with many theaters. Among them were Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany and Artistree Grange Theatre in South Pomfret, Vermont, where he shared his passion for music and the arts with countless performers and students.
Joshua is survived by his loving parents, Dan and Nancy Smith; his brothers, Travis (Melissa) Smith and Matthew Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 20th, from 4–6 p.m. at Farone & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 4899 W. Taft Road, Liverpool. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21st, at 10 a.m. at Buckley Road Baptist Church, 4962 Buckley Road, Liverpool. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. A meal will be held at Buckley Road Baptist Church immediately following the services at the cemetery.
