John Gregory Frazier, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. He was 74 years of age.

John was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 24, 1949, to John and Marrietta (Grow) Frazier. He graduated from William Chrisman High School with the class of 1969 and went on to briefly attend CMSU. John worked for Independence Parks and Recreation for most of his life. When he was 14 years old, he accepted a position as a scorekeeper for Kiwanis Queen City for various baseball teams. Later on, he became the turf maintenance supervisor, holding that position for 42 years until his retirement in 2011. John was a member of Grace Church, formerly known as Calvary Baptist Church of Independence. John married the love of his life and best friend, Pam; they were together for fifty wonderful years. John enjoyed attending every possible event that his grandchildren or nieces and nephews participated in. He was always at baseball, soccer, wrestling, softball, volleyball, bass tournaments, trap shooting, dance, and band activities. He loved taking his grandsons on hunting or fishing trips. John loved having a home in Independence across the street from his grandkids and his second home in the Ozarks at Windyville near his other grandkids. He spent his retirement years being the best papa!

John is preceded in death by his parents; John David Frazier and Marietta Goodin; his in-laws; Robert C. and Mary Ann Tignor, and brother-in-law; Mo Zlitni. He is survived by his beloved wife; Pam  Frazier, his sons; John Robert Frazier (Amanda) of Lebanon, MO, and Gregory David Frazier (Ana) of Independence, MO, and his sister-in-law; Elizabeth Ann Zlitni. He was a loving Papa to John Clayton Frazier, Curtis Robert Frazier, Robert Michael Frazier, and David Ryan Frazier. He was a loving uncle to Sabria, Maryam, Bertie, and Bayr Zlitni of Bonner Springs, KS, as well as Sarah Lisenbee, Suzanne Bolin, and Mary Shannon Burleson.

A visitation will take place from 9-11 am on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Grace Church (1915 N Liberty Independence, MO 64050) with service beginning at 11 am.
