John Barnwell Frederick

John Barnwell “Barney” Frederick of East Ridge, TN passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 84. He was born July 6, 1941 to John and Fannie Frederick. He loved Alabama football and reading a good book. He was a loving husband and father. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. He graduated from Central High School in 1961 and Chattanooga State with an associate’s degree in Fire Science. He served in the Air Force and was retired from the Chattanooga Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by parents John and Fannie Frederick, two brothers and a sister.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Mary Frederick, his children John Corey Frederick, Brian Lester Frederick, Brad (Heather) Moulder, Mindi (Clint) McNabb, grandson Brad Moulder, Jr, great-granddaughter Zoey Frizzelle, nephew Chris Cage. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The service will be held October 13th, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Forgotten Child Fund in Barney’s honor.
