John Anthony "Skip" Frommeyer III

John "Skip" Anthony Frommeyer III, age 50, of Crittenden, KY, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. Born on February 11, 1975, in Ft. Thomas, KY, he was the beloved son of Barbara and John Frommeyer Jr.
Skip lived a life that was defined by his relationship with his family, his service, sense of humor, and ability to think and act at a moment's notice. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served with distinction for 20 years, including four tours in Iraq, along with rotations to Micronesia and South Korea. In importance to our country directly, he served honestly under Joint Task Force Katrina, providing aid to the victims affected by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Skip first served as a Construction Engineer, then as a Transportation Management Coordinator with the United States Army ranging from conventional forces to United States Army Special Operations Command. Among his many commendations, he was awarded the Bronze Star and 2 Meritorious Service Medals.
Outside of his active-duty service, Skip was also inducted into the prestigious "Kentucky Colonels." He continued to strive to lead a full and vibrant life by sharing his energetic and lively personality with others around him, always brightening the mood of those he surrounded himself with. He was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in fly fishing and nature in general, passions he not only practiced but shared with others through several published articles, along with hunting. Those who knew Skip will remember his steadfast character, his generous heart, and his loyal companionship-especially to his faithful dog, Maggie.
Skip's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving daughter, Quinn (Deven) Holmes; his sons, John (Juliane) Frommeyer IV and Jarett Frommeyer; as well as his cherished grandchildren: Dexter, Vivian, and Bennett Holmes-with a fourth grandchild on the way. He also leaves behind his brothers, Louis Frommeyer and Philip Frommeyer, his nephew; Maddox; his aunt, Mary Ann Betz-Wolf and a legacy of courage, kindness, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 P.M. at All Saints Church, 62 Needmore Street, Walton, KY, 41094. Mass will be followed by full military honors.
