John Michael "Mike" Garcia was called home by our Heavenly Father on November 27, 2024, at the age of 63.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia Botello, and Father: Santos L Mendez Sr.
A native Austinite and former government employee, Mike was intelligent, generous, and always had an intuitive sense on worldly and familial events. He loved to travel and see new things. He was so thoughtful and always thought of how he could benefit others and brighten their day. The littlest of things always mattered. He was a toy collector among other things such as baseball cards, movies, and music. He loved music, music was something he listened to everyday.
A true foodie, Mike always enjoyed a good meal or restaurant, and his dry wit and humor kept everyone on their toes. He will be remembered for his shy dimpled-smile, which always warmed our hearts with immense joy and adoration.
He had 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren who he cherished and truly adored. He always looked forward to spending time with them and spoiling them.
He is survived by his daughters with Karen Cohen Garcia: Rachel White, Shannon Garcia, and Kristin Garcia-Grado as well as grandchildren Leah Garcia, Jacob Grado, Sophia White, Grayson White, and Audrey White.
He is survived by his mother: Raymunda Mendez, Sisters: Myra Mendez, Issa Mendez, Marissa Mendez, and Melissa Mendez, Brothers: Santos L Mendez Jr, and Marc Mendez Sr, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The pain of Mike's absence from our lives, will forever be felt in our hearts, but he will live on in our treasured memories, and stories, and in what all of us have accomplished because of him.
