John Gaston Obituary
John is survived by his sisters Nell Watkins, Peggy Gaston and Patricia Gaston, nieces Jan Boney and her husband Jim and Charlene Slocum and her husband Steve, great niece, Lori Fletcher and her son Jacob Fletcher and many friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Sadie Gaston, his sisters Florence Harley and Sarah Gaston, Brother-in-law Charles Watkins and a nephew, Tony Harley.
He worked for Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company of Charleston for 43 years until his retirement in 2000.
John always put a high value on spiritual things. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 19, 1941. He served in the North Columbia congregation and as a congregation elder in the West Ashley, Ravenell and Ashley River congregations in Charleston.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. We all look forward to the time when the promises of our God, Jehovah, will be fulfilled and he will once again be reunited with the ones he loved to enjoy the best life ever.
The family would like to thank their many friends for the texts, phone calls, visits and generosity during this difficult time. This is truly something they will never forget.
A Memorial Service will be announced in the future.
