John Patrick George, 75, of Slater, died Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slater, with Rev. Francis Doyle officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church, followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 A.M. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Post #78 or the Fisher House at the VA Hospital in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.

Born May 31, 1950 in Marshall, he was the son of the late Aubrey Patrick Howard George and Lucille Kalinka George. On December 18, 1971 at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington D.C., he married Cindy Czerniak, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving are three children, Brandy R. Steinhardt of Slater, Shawn P. George of Sedalia, and Jaimie P. George of Marshall; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry George and his wife Hope of Deltona, Florida, and Mike George and his wife Patty of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Mr. George was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving twenty years of active service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #78 in Slater, and was a 1968 graduate of Slater High School.
