John Alexander Gibson

John Alexander "Gibby" Gibson, passed 12/24/25 at Eisenhower Hospital in Palm Springs, CA. He had been hospitalized on 12/21/25 due to complications of lymphedema and succumbed to sepsis.

Alex was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Jeffrey and Maureen Gibson on 11/22/87. He grew up in San Diego, Virginia Beach, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and lastly, in 2000 Janesville. He graduated from Milton High School and UW Whitewater. He worked as a computer programmer at BSP Software for 12 years. Alex had been living in Cathedral City, CA since 2013 with his girlfriend, Natalie Melton.

He enjoyed wrestling in high school and college as well as duck hunting and fishing. He had taken up woodworking in California and enjoyed making shelves, tables and even a "catio" for their cat, Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Gibson, his grandfathers, John Gilligan and John Gibson, his grandmother Mary Gilligan as well as his aunt Kathleen Gilligan. He is survived by his mother, Maureen (Frank Werfal), his brother Nick (Sara), the love of his life, Natalie Melton, his grandmother Amy Gibson, his uncles John Gilligan (Chrissy), Izzy Martinez (Joann), Greg Gibson (Lana), Tim Gibson (Suzette) and aunts Theresa Pagor (Jerry Ryan), Colleen Reid as well as cousins Katherine Pagor, Jesse Martinez (Ann), Patrick Gilligan, Shawn Gilligan (Cassy Watts) and Rachel Martinez (Eddie) and Amanda Reid.

The family will have a private service. Alex wished to be cremated. His ashes will be scattered with his Dad's ashes in the spring
