John Giles (January 22, 1933 – November 27, 2024)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Giles, beloved son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle on November 27, 2024, at the age of 91.
Known for his generosity and kindness, John enjoyed spending time with his many family members and friends, whether it was in his adopted home state of California or during return trips to his native Massachusetts. He will be fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him.
John was born in Lawrence, Mass., on January 22, 1933. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence in 1950 before joining the Air Force. Following his discharge in May 1955, John took employment at McDonnell Douglas, where he worked until his retirement in March 1988.
John often spent his retirement traveling, and he visited many locations, including London, Paris, Hawaii, and Australia for the 2000 Summer Olympics. He called Laguna Niguel, Calif., his home for nearly 50 years.
John was predeceased by: his father, George F.; his mother Viola Brooks Giles; his brother, George Giles; and his sisters Viola Fishwick, Carolee Beveridge, and Shirley Giles. John is survived by several nephews and nieces and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
