Andrea Ruth (Pitt) Giles, age 73, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at Emerson Hospital, Concord on Sunday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Richard Giles with whom she enjoyed 49 years of marriage.

She was born in Boston on June 2, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Steven and Susan (Jervis) Pitt.

Andrea was raised in Arlington with her large family of 9 children. She was a graduate of Arlington High School, and attended North Adams State College. Andrea and Richard married on January 31, 1976. Andrea worked for several years at Cornell University in the Fish and Wildlife Department in Ithaca, NY. Until her retirement she worked as a daycare teacher at Kindercare, Mulberry, and Bright Horizons in MA. Andrea's favorite pastime was reading. Andrea was a very devoted Red Sox fan, and a lover of Broadway Musicals. She loved movies, Cape Cod beaches, spending quality time with her sisters and friends as well as an array of activities with her beloved grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her loving husband, Andrea is survived by her daughter Katelyn Conklin and her husband Sean Conklin of Chelmsford; her son Steven Giles of Portland, Oregon; her grandchildren Elora and Mason Conklin of Chelmsford, and Ryder Christen of Portland, Oregon; her sister Susan Rodas of Anaheim, CA; her sister Paula Bonitz of Moraga, CA; her brother Steven Pitt and his wife Carolyn Pitt of Georgia; her sister Meaghan Pitt and her husband Arthur Garbett of Littleton, MA/Naples, FL; her Sister Pamela Pfeifer and her husband Edward Pfeifer of Hyannis; her brother David Pitt of MA; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and cousins all over the country; as well as some very dear friends.

Andrea was predeceased by her brother Jerry Pitt of FL; her brother Johnny Pitt of MA; her brother-in-law George Rodas of Anaheim, CA; and her brother-in-law Richard Bonitz of Moraga, CA.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD.
