John S. Gougoustamos

John S. Gougoutsamos, 81 of Wescosville passed away on March 16, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Aristea (Vasilopoulos) Gougoustamos. They would have been married 55 years on August 2nd.
John was born in Achelinada, Trikala, Greece on February 4, 1944, son of the late Stavros and Varvara (Guziotis) Gougoustamos. After losing his father at the age of three, John grew to be a provider for his mother and brother. John traveled to the United States at the age of 26, where he worked as a skilled carpenter for 8 years. He was a great provider, master handyman and builder, hard worker, and patriarch of the family.
John later became a restaurateur of multiple successful family owned and operated businesses. He owned the Hometown Diner and Diner 248, and was a former partner of the Trivet. He was a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem and an Easton AHEPA Chapter #56 member.
John loved to spend his summers in Greece and his winters in Florida. He saw the value and good in everyone. There was no one better to offer advice, support, or guidance. His family, especially his grandchildren filled his heart and always brought a smile to his face.
Survivors: His wife Aristea, brother Athanasios husband of Dimitra, sons Stavros, husband of Maria, Vaselios husband of Irene, Athanasios husband of Anastasia and John husband of Megan; grandchildren Aristea, Aristea, Trisevgeni, George, Yianna, Ioannis, Evangelina, Christina, Varvara and Athena; niece Barbara Kirkopoulos wife of Gus, their children Christos and Demi, nephew Stavros husband of Dina and their children Zoe and Nasia.
Viewing & Funeral: Wednesday, March 19, 2025, viewing from 10AM to 12 noon followed by the Funeral Service at 12 noon all at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 West Union Blvd. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial in Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Allentown. Live streaming of the service will be available at www.stnicholas.org/gougoustamos.
