John Grawemeyer Obituary

September 24, 1926 - August 22, 2025
Son of William Grawemeyer and Josephine Schmitt, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 98.
Preceded in death by his wife of 71years, Mary Jean (nee Eith) and grandson Jeremy Grawemeyer.
Survived by daughter Sharon (Michael) Sanford, sons Michael (Linda) and John (Deanne) Grawemeyer, and grandchildren Michael, Matthew and Jonathan Grawemeyer,
Carolyn (Grawemeyer) Tilton, Brittney (Grawemeyer) Bowles, Darek Sanford and Devon (Sanford) Robinson and fifteen great grandchildren.
John graduated from du Pont Manual High School class of 1944 1/2. He served in the Army 745th Tank Battalion during WWII and trained troops during the Korean Conflict as a Master Sergeant. He was a mechanical engineer for General Electric throughout his career.
Gifts in John's memory may be directed to the American Heart Association.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, August 30 at 10:00 AM at St. Martha Church, 2825 Klondike Ln. Louisville, Ky 40218 with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
