John Harrell Gresham, a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved son, passed away on January 28, 2025, at his residence in Helena, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Born on August 24, 1978, in McRae, John was a man who carried the warmth of his hometown with him wherever he went. His journey led him to a distinguished career at Telfair State Prison, where he made significant impacts and forged lasting friendships. John's professional endeavors reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment to serving others.

John’s warmth extended far beyond his work life. He was a loving husband to his wife, Brandi Gresham, with whom he shared a profound bond built on trust, respect, and unwavering support. Together, they created a nurturing home for their precious daughter, Emmi Mae Gresham, who was the light of his life. John took immense joy in being a father, cherishing every moment spent with his family, and he was devoted to ensuring that Emmi Mae grew up knowing the depth of his love.

He was a beloved son to his parents, Joe and Annie Ruth Spires Gresham, who instilled in him the values of kindness, hard work, and perseverance. These values were mirrored in John’s interactions with everyone around him, from family gatherings filled with laughter to quiet moments of support for his brothers, Thomas Edgar Gresham and James Gresham (Jessica), as well as the extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John will be remembered not only for the love he so freely gave but also for the multitude of lives he touched. His warm smile, gentle spirit, and generous heart were a gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. In both good times and challenging moments, John stood as a pillar of strength, offering encouragement and solace.

A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on February 1, 2025, at 3:30PM, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor the memory of a remarkable man whose legacy will continue to inspire love and kindness in the hearts of all who knew him.
