John L. Guice, age 71, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Riviere de Soliel Community Care Center in Mansura. He accepted Christ at an early age at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville. After graduating, he embarked on a career in construction, showcasing his strong work ethic and determination. Throughout his life, John's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as he and his son ran a successful landscaping business (Father & Son) in Atlanta. He and Patricia also established a transportation service called Patricia John Transport, which served the local community until John's health declined.

Outside of his work, John cherished spending quality time with his family, and his close circle of friends. In his leisurely time, he was an avid fan of football, passionately cheering for both his beloved LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints; or sometimes watching classic western movies.

John also enjoyed playing basketball with younger individuals, effortlessly bridging the generation gap, and forming lasting connections. John was a pillar of inspiration in his community. He extended his kindness to the neighborhood children, often treating them to ice cream as a simple yet heartfelt gesture of his caring nature. His acts of compassion were not forgotten, forever etching him into the hearts of all who knew him.

As we mourn the passing of John, let us also celebrate the rich and meaningful life he lived. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family and community will continue to inspire and uplift us for generations to come. May he rest in peace, knowing that he has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
