John S. Haldeman, 92, of Manheim passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born in Hershey, he was the son of the late Benjamin W. and Barbara Snavely Haldeman. He was the loving husband of the late Alta Ober Haldeman who died in 2008. John retired as a truck driver for Longenecker’s Hatchery, Inc., Elizabethtown. He was a member of Hempfield Church of the Brethren and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. His interests included hunting, fishing, gardening, bus trips and he loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving is a daughter, Donna D. wife of Abe Hoffer, two sons, John R. and Ben L. Haldeman all of Manheim, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two siblings, Samuel S. Haldeman of Danville and Alice H. Grady of Annville. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Sara S. Lehman, Henry S. and Aaron S. Haldeman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John’s Celebration of Life Service at Chiques Church, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service. Private interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in John’s memory to the Lebanon VA Healthcare System, Center of Development & Community Engagement, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Building 18, Lebanon, PA 17042.
