John Leslie Halford, Jr., born on November 23, 1955, in Patchogue, New York, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, in Maysville, North Carolina, at the age of 70. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who lived a life marked by service, love, and dedication to his family.

John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, dedicating 26 years to military service before retiring. Following his military career, he continued to serve the community as a post office clerk from 2004 to 2016. His commitment to duty and work ethic.

Beyond his professional life, John was a man of varied interests and simple pleasures. He had a deep appreciation for food of all kinds and found joy in western and action movies. An avid fisherman, he cherished the peace and solace of time spent by the water. John also enjoyed recreational shooting and found joy in the virtual adventures of video games, particularly "Call of Duty." Above all, he delighted in spoiling his beloved wife, Maria, with whom he shared many cherished moments.

John is preceded in death by his father, John Halford, Sr. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Maria Halford; his son, Shawn Halford of South Carolina; his daughter, Genieve Halford of Tennessee; his step-daughter, Jahaiza La Rue; and his cherished grandson, Tyler La Rue. John's affection extended to his furry companions, his rescued cats Angel, Lucky, Gabbie, Kitty, and Sunshine, who brought him much joy.

John Leslie Halford's legacy is one of dedication, love, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
