John Andrew "Drew" Hamilton

John Andrew Hamilton, "Drew", age 77, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025 at Hinsdale Hospital. He loved life-whether he was tinkering with his trains, racing his slot cars, or casting a line on the water, you could always find him doing something that brought him joy. He had a knack for making people laugh with his jokes and lighthearted spirit, leaving behind a trail of smiles and laughter wherever he went. A true handyman, Drew was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends, showcasing his skills while creating memories in the process. His family always came first, and he cherished every moment spent with them, weaving connections that will carry on forever. Drew will be loved and cherished by his whole family and fondly remembered by his phenomenal cheesecake. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 56 years, Debra Hamilton; cherished children Chris (Jodi) and Scott Hamilton; adored grandchildren Amber, Alissa, Mark, Kirsten and Jake; treasured great-grandchildren Kalli, Joey and Karsyn; fond brother Bob (Sondi) Hamilton; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and so many dear friends and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Harriet Hamilton, grandson Scott Jr. and siblings Carol, Nancy, Cyndi and Tim. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 3-8 pm. Military honors will be performed at 5:45pm followed by a funeral service at 6:00pm. Cremation rites to be accorded.
