John Hammond was born on October 1, 1941 to Clyde and Bessie Hammond.
He was a loving husband, father, and pop pop. He enjoyed woodworking and going to the auction.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Clyde Hammond; mother, Bessie Hammond; sister, Dorthy (J.L.) Adkins; and brother-in-law, Lowell Adkins.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Hammond; sister, Wanda Adkins; 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Adams Hill Cemetery in Deer Lodge.
