Jacob C. Hammonds, 42, of Lititz, and formerly of Quitman, Texas; beloved husband, and father, died peacefully after his long struggle. He was in his wife's arms and shared their final kiss as he passed on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at UPMC Lititz. Born in Garland, Texas, he was the son of Buddy Hammonds, and the late Tammy Jo Gray Maricle, and the stepson of the late Billie Ray Maricle. Jacob was the extremely loving husband of Jenni Martin Hammonds and they would have observed their 18th wedding anniversary in December of this year. He was extremely loving, loyal and protective and humorous. Jacob received an Associate’s Degree from Kilgore College in Longview, TX. For many years he worked as the manager of the Purple Turtle Consignment Boutique, Lititz. Jacob was an exceptional cook, and family and friends were treated to the best meals anyone could imagine. He had a passion for all sports, but he especially enjoyed cheering on his Dallas Cowboys Football Team.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jenni, is a son, Asher Martin Hammonds of Lititz, stepbrother, Timothy husband of Brittany Maricle of Longview, TX, stepsister, Melissa Maricle-Bryant of Longview, TX, paternal grandmother, Beverly Hammonds-Flemming, and parents-in-law: Rod and Lee Ann Martin of Lititz, as well as his sister-in-law Rachel Martin Stanley.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jacob’s Celebration of Life Service at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 44 East Orange Street, Lititz, on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
