John R. "Jack" Handrahan Jr.

"Uncle Jack" left us on December 12, 2025 to be with the Lord. He was born in Arlington in 1931 to his parents John J & Angela Handrahan. Jack was a graduate of Arlington High School and a lifelong resident of Arlington. As a youth he cherished his summers spent on Prince Edward Island on his uncle's farm. He was a talented and creative carpenter who worked for Jordan Marsh in Boston. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hiking and going to his cabin in Blanchard Maine. Jack also enjoyed sailing his boat out of Essex harbor, hiking, cooking, his toy fox terriers, and music. He was well known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. Uncle Jack was a very kind and helpful person and he will be missed by family, friends, and neighbors. He is predeceased by his wife Eleanor (Mulhern) Handrahan. He is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, ARLINGTON, on Thursday, December 18th from 4:00-7:00PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford Street, Arlington, on Friday, December 19th at 10:00am. His Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
