John George Hardewig, Jr, 83, passed away peacefully on February 28, surrounded by family. The youngest of 6 children, he is the loving brother of Katie Reed (Harrison, OH). John is preceded in death by his parents John George Hardewig and Catherine (nee Buerger) Hardewig.
John was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH and part of the 1958 graduating class of Roger Bacon High School in St. Bernard. He was also a former Cincinnati Police Officer and graduated from Xavier University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. John worked as an accountant for David J. Joseph company and St. Bernard tax service. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
John is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Jane H. Hardewig, his four sons George (Nancy) Hardewig, Greg Hardewig, Gary (Libby) Hardewig, & Adam Hardewig. Grandpa to Amanda, Sammie, Lexie, Alex, Megan, Abby, Brady, Max, Macy, and Kenzie and dog Gracie.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6th at 10:30 am followed by Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm at T. P. WHITE & SONS Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave. (Mt. Washington) Cincinnati, OH 45230. Interment will follow the service at Guardian Angels Cemetery.
