John Henry Harte, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024. He was born on December 1, 1932 in Brookyln, New York to the late Lester and Elizabeth Harte; devoted father of Edward John Harte, Linda Ann (Dennis) McGill, and the late Kathy Harte; cherished Pop Pop of Jennifer Lynn Dow, Heather Erin Anderson and great grandson Aaron Matthew Anderson; loving brother of the late Margaret Metcalfe; dear uncle of Dylis Metcalfe-Meidling and the late Tassie Metcalfe; also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
John joined the Navy where he served his country proudly. After being honorably discharged he began working for Fuller Brush Company. Once his family began growing, he started working for Fireline Corporation. He retired from Fireline at the age of 80 after over 47 years there. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He will be sorely missed by his family.
A viewing will be held on Thursday at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 9:30am at St. Clement Catholic Church followed by burial at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
