He was born on December 2, 1935 in Richmond, New York to Mrs. Harriet Roberta Sayles Haughom and Mr. Odd B. Haughom. He was married to Mrs. Joyce Ann Commesso Haughom. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He also worked as a computer operations supervisor at Price Waterhouse.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Leary.
John is survived by his wife, Joyce Haughom; daughter, Wendy Woodward (Matthew); daughter, Linda Demery (Michael); daughter, Lori Haughom; grandchildren, Ryan Woodward, Sean Demery, Danielle Steele; great grandchildren, Baylor Steele, Brody Steele; brother, Paul Haughom.
His wishes were to be cremated. No other services will be held at this time.
