Clark Funeral Home and ChapelWith heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jackson Wills "Jack" Walker, age 80, of Dallas, Georgia, who left this world on August 15, 2025. Born on January 9, 1945, in Bartow County, Georgia, Jack was the cherished son of the late Earnest Lee "Sie" Walker and the late Essie M. Wills Walker.
Jack's journey through life was beautifully intertwined with his high school sweetheart, Carolyn. Their love story began in their teenage years and blossomed into a 62-year marriage marked by unconditional support and laughter. A devoted member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Jack was not only a faithful servant but also a source of inspiration and strength for many within his community.
Known as a literal "Jack of all trades," Jack's hands were skilled in construction - a testament to his career as a structural supervisor at Lockheed where he dedicated many years. Upon retirement, his passion for building continued, leaving a legacy of craftsmanship throughout the Burnt Hickory community that will remain for generations. Jack's love for the land manifested in the growth of muscadines and blueberries, and he found great joy in crafting wine from his harvests. An ardent outdoorsman, he cherished the time spent hunting and fishing, often daydreaming of the cowboy life he so admired while watching his beloved westerns.
For over 30 years, Jack served as president of the Northwest Georgia Archeology Society, where his meticulous nature shone through. His dedication to unearthing and preserving artifacts brought delight not only to him but also to those who were fortunate enough to see the astounding collection he carefully assembled.
Jack's spirit will be profoundly missed by his devoted wife, Carolyn Walraven Walker; their daughters: Polly Cochran, Heather Lyne (Dylan) Turner, and Madison Bailey (Curtis) Johnson; his brother, Al (Patricia "P.J.") Walker; sisters-in-law, Shirley Chapman and Dorothy Cochran; brother-in-law, Vernon (Callie) Walraven; and numerous nieces and nephews who carry forward his legacy of love.
In accordance with Jack's wishes, he will be cremated, allowing his spirit to soar free as he so cherished in life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Town of YNOT, where family and friends will honor his memory in a festive Cowboy Day. The day of celebration will be on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to don their finest western attire, embracing the cowboy spirit Jack held so dear. The address to the Town of YNOT is 586 Benson Rd. Dallas, Georgia 30132.
