JOHN WAYNE HEDENBERG, 61 of Arthur, IL formerly of Lincoln, IL passed away at 7:03 A.M. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at his residence.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P. M. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main Street in Arcola, IL. Private burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery.
John was born on September 5, 1963 in Decatur, IL. He was a son Patricia Ann Hedenberg.
He is survived by two sons, Jake Hedenberg of Tuscola, IL and Jarrod Wayne Hedenberg of Riverton, IL and one daughter, Amanda Coppinger of Lincoln IL; eight grandchildren, Kobe and Jaxson Hedenberg and Adrian Hedenberg, Amelia Hedenberg, Liam Hedenberg and Parker Springer, Addison & Payton Tinkle; three siblings, Scarlet Moll and her husband Tim of Sullivan, IL, Lois Schiebert of Tulsa, OK, and Rich Johnson and his wife Robin of Princeton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his mother and brother Mark.
John graduated from Olympia High School in McLean County, IL. After High Schol John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
John worked as an auto mechanic for nearly 20 years in Lincoln, IL. He was a great mechanic and used his skills to provide and for his muscle cars that he raced at the Charleston Drag Strip as well as the Drag Strip in Havana, IL.
He really enjoyed drag racing, riding his Harley’s and spending time with family and friends. John was always ready and willing to help anyone in need.
