John Robert "Trey" Heim III

John "Trey" Robert Heim III, 51, of Concord, North Carolina passed on January 31st, 2025.
Trey was born on March 20th, 1973, in Fairmont, West Virginia. Since a very early age, Trey lived in Charlotte, North Carolina. Trey was proceeded in death by his father, John Robert Heim, Jr., and his mother, Sherry Lynn Heim (Wells), in addition to his grandparents and uncle, Herb Wells.
Trey is survived by his wife, Annette Renee Heim; his daughters, Hannah Renee Heim and Mary McKee Heim; his grandchildren, Eden Lynn Powell and Jackson Christopher Darr; and his sister, Heather Heim Skeen and her husband, John Skeen, as well as nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Trey will forever be remembered for his love of music, sports, dad jokes, and making sure his loved ones were cared for the best way he could, which was typically cooking or picking up food for them. If you ever ate his oatmeal cookies, then you knew what a great cook he could be.
Trey worked in the sign business since he was 15 years old. He started his career by working at his parents' business, Budget Signs. He knew everything one could possibly dream to ask about signs. He was also proud of every sign he worked on and his family will not be able to drive through Charlotte without spotting the numerous signs that he said he worked on.
Trey was very proud and thankful for playing travel soccer and for Myers Park during his youth. He always spoke fondly of his coaches and even when his dad "coached"so his travel team could play. His family supported him and his joy of playing sports.
Into adulthood, Trey continued his love of sports. He thoroughly enjoyed playing golf, cornhole, pool, and disc golf. He seemed to excel at any sport he ever tried; he was phenomenal that way. He loved watching Carolina Panthers football, college football, UNC basketball (despised Duke), MLS, and golf.
Trey spoke when he thought he needed to, but his family is left wishing he spoke just a little more. He will always be remembered as a great guy by anyone who got the blessing to know him.
The family will be holding a celebration of life service in March, close to his birthday and the first day of spring, which was a day he loved. Details to follow. All will be welcome to join in honoring and celebrating Trey's life and memory.
