Robert Heim Obituary
Bob was born on January 7, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, to J.A. "Bud" and Helen (Durham) Heim. He was a 1971 graduate of Valley High School in Louisville. As a young man, Bob learned the value of hard work while helping at his father's service station, Bud's Shell Station, before going on to work for many years at Ford Motor Company in Louisville.
Bob was married to his late wife, Hazel A. (Grider) Heim, with whom he shared a devoted life centered around family. He was a longtime member of Willey's Chapel and later attended Stony Point Church. Bob enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including competitive croquet, bowling in a Louisville league for many years, a passion for photography and passionately cheering on the University of Kentucky Wildcats where he truly bled blue. Above all else, Bob cherished time spent with his family, a value that defined his life.
Known for being humble and deeply family-oriented, Bob leaves behind a legacy of love and quiet strength.
He is survived by his children Brandon (Lauren) Heim of Coconut Creek, Florida, Jessica (Stephen) Abbott of Henryville, Indiana, and Nicole Heim of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren Lauren Jacob, Bailey Bowser, Lillian Horton, Brittany (Matt) Long, Samantha Abbott, Ethan Heim, Nicholas Heim, and Emma Heim; great-grandchildren Damian Patterson, Hazel Patterson, Jaxson Jarrell; and siblings Tom (Pat) Heim and Ken (Bonnie) Heim.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.A. "Bud" and Helen (Durham) Heim; his brother, Larry Heim; and his beloved furry companions, Daisy and Theodore.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Henryville, Indiana, with graveside services to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM the same day at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Forest Grove Cemetery.
