Cora Dickson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Adams Funeral Home Henryville on Dec. 14, 2025.
Cora L. Dickson, 86, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly on December 10, 2025.
She was born on February 18, 1939, in Henryville, Indiana, to William Zachary "Zach" and Evelyn May (Howser) Dietrich, who both preceded her in death. Cora was a 1957 graduate of Henryville High School and went on to earn her cosmetology license after graduating from beauty college in 1958.
On June 3, 1960, at Blue Lick Christian Church, she married the love of her life, James "Jim" Dickson. Together they built a family and a life grounded in faith, love, and community.
Cora had a lifelong connection to Blue Lick Christian Church and treasured her relationship with the Lord. Easter was her favorite holiday, and she approached life with joy, purpose, and an unwavering spirit. She had many passions-playing Othello (a game which she was famously competitive in), enjoying the beach and jumping in the car to go on a "sunset run". She loved fishing in her youth, bowling, swimming, gardening, golfing-earning a trophy for the longest drive at age 65-and spending time outdoors caring for her yard and watching the birds at her feeders. She also made time for crafts, flower arranging, crocheting, sewing, and knitting just to name a few.
Above all, Cora cherished time with her family. She loved cooking, baking, and creating a warm, welcoming home. No matter where life took her, her heart always remained in Henryville.
She will be remembered for her humor, caring nature, happiness, selflessness, passion, energy, strength, and beauty-inside and out.
Cora is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Dickson; her children: Rex (Tammy) Dickson of Leota, IN; Rebecka (Kirk) Flowers of Henryville, IN; and Charles (Nathalie) Dickson of Evansville, IN; three grandchildren: Cassandra (Daniel Taskey) Simone of Seymour, IN; Aleesha Simone of Henryville, IN; and Kyle Flowers of Austin, IN; and her brother, William "Billy" (Paulette) Dietrich of Memphis, IN and extended family.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Theran Dickson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zion Cemetery or Blue Lick Christian Church, c/o Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 209 S. Fersguson St., Henryville, Indiana 47126.

To the Family I´m sorry for your loss. Henryville lost another wonderful person who will be greatly missed. I remember traveling to Michigan where Jim and Cora used to live. I was welcomed in and
treated like family from the start, one of my fondest memories is learning how to make a homemade pizza from scratch. May God rest your soul and keep you safe
