Peggy Ann Poulter, 82, of Wildwood, Florida, formerly of Kentucky, passed peacefully at home on December 27, 2025, following a gradual decline in health.

Born January 17, 1943, in Magnolia, Kentucky, Peggy was raised in Louisville. She attended Valley High School and Sullivan College. In her youth, she enjoyed modeling with the Alix Adams Agency and participating in dance performances.

Peggy was a loving and devoted mother who worked tirelessly to support her children. She dedicated 27 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Norton Suburban Hospital, caring for others with compassion and commitment.

A faithful member of Northeast Christian Church, Peggy served in the nursery, never tiring of holding babies. She cherished her Bible study friendships and the strong bonds she formed there. Peggy enjoyed walks with family and friends and maintained close friendships from her childhood. She was a proud 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Peggy loved reading and was known for her beautiful penmanship. She enjoyed classic movies, fashion, especially shoes, and had a deep appreciation for beauty and nature. Her heart was especially devoted to animals. Over the years, she cared for cows, horses, chickens, foster kittens, and dogs, with her beloved Doberman Bella holding a special place in her heart. She also volunteered with ARK for Hart, an animal rescue organization. A devoted University of Kentucky Wildcats fan, Peggy was especially enthusiastic during tournament season.

Later in life, Peggy split her time between Crestwood and Hart County, Kentucky. She dearly loved the family farm and country life—riding the UTV through the woods and enjoying the peace of nature. She treasured time with her grandchildren and was immensely proud of them, often sharing their Rodeo adventures with anyone who would listen. Eventually, she moved to Florida to be closer to her daughter, where she cherished neighbors who became like family. Peggy was fond of saying, “God, keep one hand on my shoulder and one over my mouth!”

Peggy faced the end of her life with peace and confidence, knowing she would dance with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, and rejoice with loved ones who had gone before her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Zula Mae Ackerman; her stepfather, Albert Francis Ackerman; her father, James L. Thomas; and her “city mom,” Martha Culver. She is survived by her son, Shane Stone; her daughter, Jaime Hartfield (Jeff); her grandchildren, Scott, Brandon, Dakota Hartfield, and Skylar Stone; five great-grandchildren; several half-brothers and half-sisters; her sisters-in-law; her cousins; all her beloved nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243) from 9:00 a.m. EST until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. EST. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Knoxes Creek Cemetery in Magnolia, Kentucky.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Cornerstone Hospice for their compassionate care.
