It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edwin A. "Eddie" Weier Jr., who left this world on January 29, 2026, in the comfort of his home. Born on March 31, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, Eddie lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a robust sense of humor that brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
Eddie proudly graduated from Valley High School in 1961. He embarked on a fulfilling career, retiring after 20 years from Bachman Chevrolet, where he made significant contributions to the Parts and Warehouse Department. In his younger days, he embraced a unique identity as a self-proclaimed certified scrap metalist, showcasing his resourcefulness and hands-on approach to life.
Above all, Eddie was a loving and devoted family man. His greatest pride stemmed from the joy of caring for his family, as he committed himself wholeheartedly to their well-being and happiness. He cherished the time spent with his daughter Angela and her husband Eric Price, and he found immeasurable delight in creating lasting memories with his grandson, Thomas. Gardening, a beloved hobby, was a pastime where he could connect with nature and share peaceful moments with those he loved.
A devout Catholic, Eddie's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through its many ups and downs. He will be lovingly remembered for his independence, unwavering spirit, and the laughter he brought into the lives of friends and family. His warmth and kindness were felt by all, leaving behind a legacy enriched with cherished memories.
Eddie is preceded in death by his dear wife of 47 years, Patricia Weier, who held a special place in his heart, as well as his parents, Edwin A. Weier Sr. and Geneva Weier, and his siblings, John Weier and Janeen Decker.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Angela (Eric) Price, his treasured grandson, Thomas Price, along with several nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward in their hearts. Eddie's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the care and support shown by the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care South Central Louisville.
As we remember Edwin A. "Eddie" Weier Jr., we are reminded of the profound impact he had on those who loved him. His gentle spirit, steadfast support, and infectious laughter will forever resonate within our stories and memories.
The family kindly suggest that expressions of sympathy be made to FEAT of Louisville (Families for Effective Autism Treatment), in honor of his grandson, Thomas (1100 E. Market Street, Louisville, KY 40206).
A celebration of Eddie's life will be Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Mallard Lake Club House, 203 Villa Lane, Shepherdsville, KY, 40165, from 12pm-5pm.
