F. Michael "Mike" Abell

F. Michael "Mike" Abell, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on March 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on September 4, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late William and Jeanette Jones Abell.

Mike was a graduate of Trinity High School. He built a long and successful career in sales within the manufacturing industry. He worked for 3M Unitech for 30+ years, where he was recognized numerous times as a Top Seller. His dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Mike had a deep love for life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, boating, and spending time at the cabin at Nolin Lake. He was a proud member of Midland Trail Golf Club and was known among friends as an infamous 5th Quarter alumni. Whether telling jokes or gathering around a card table, Mike brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. Above all, Mike was a caring, honest, and humble man - the rock of his family.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded by his brother, Terry Abell, and the mother of his children, Judy Abell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Lora Kay "Kit" Hartmann-Abell; his children, John Hartmann (Marty), Eric Hartmann (Mary Pat), Dawn Williams (Scott), Eric Abell, Amy Richter (Brian), and Becky Hartmann; his grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher, Teel, Miller, and Davis; four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Mark Abell, Beth Jagger (Denny), and Margaret Hedden.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm – 3:00pm, Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Ratterman Brothers, East Louisville (12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40243) with a memorial service to begin at 3:00pm.
