Mr. John Daniel Heim

Funeral services for Mr. John Daniel Heim, 81, of Henderson, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at West Main Baptist Church with Pastor Luke Martinez and Pastor Carmelo Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery with Jason Wood officiating, under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 30, at the funeral home.

Mr. Heim passed from this life on January 27, 2026, in Carthage. He was born February 11, 1944, in Boerne. John proudly served his country in the United States Army and moved to Henderson in 1963 upon completion of his honorable service. He was a jack all trades and a master of none as he would say. During his working career, Mr. Heim planted trees for the state of Texas and later became a truck driver. Earlier in life, he had also taken courses to be a drug counselor and spent two years in Bible college.

John was a hard-working man, and he had a deep love for his family. He enjoyed gardening and always dreamed of having a big farm. Mr. Heim, at the age of 60, embraced his faith and dedicated his life to Christ, becoming a devoted Christian. His unwavering commitment to his beliefs led him to be a dedicated member of the Middle Cross Baptist Church. His legacy of faith and service will forever inspire those whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his father Velmer Heim Sr., mother Florence Sanders and husband Charles, his son John Norman Heim and daughter Wendy Yvonne Heim, and his brother Garland Wayne Heim.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years Lisa Heim of Henderson; children Bryan Heim and wife Jessica of Gary, Johnny Max Heim and wife Lupe of Mt. Pleasant, Shannon Marshawn Martinez and husband Carmelo of Henderson, April Danielle Ratcliff and husband Johnnie of Henderson, Laura Miller and husband Kenneth of Bryan, Jesica Anderson and husband Trey of Carthage, and Le Kesista Heim of Mineola; brothers Harold Joseph Heim of Henderson and Velmer Heim Jr. of Lindale; sister Judy Cates and husband Rand of Lindale; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Peyton Wood, Tomi Rushing, Chandler McMurtray, Nathan Ratcliff, Alex Delarosa, and Leon "Boy" Wood III. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Heim and Johnny Max Heim.
