John Albert Helling

Helling, John A. Age 69 of Bloomington, MN passed away on July 15, 2025. Preceded in death by parents Vincent & Carol (Joan) Helling and brother Edward Helling. Survived by brothers Tom (Laurie) & Dan, nieces Carolyn Brownlie, Allison Klint, Madeline Helling, Amanda Helling & nephew Mitch Helling as well as 9 grand nieces and nephews.
John graduated from Control Data Institute & went to the University of MN at night to work towards a BSME. Algorithms & logarithms were done quickly in his head with no paper trail, to the dismay of his teachers. His humor was snarky.
As a service engineer for Eaton Leonard, John specialized in troubleshooting & training on metal tube bending equipment throughout the US, Canada, China & Taiwan. Clients included: General Motors, Harley-Davidson, John Deere & Pacific Hi Tech. In prior positions, he was a shop foreman or superintendent for Twin Cities manufacturing companies including Bauer Welding & Metal Fabricators.
At his tree farm in Central Minnesota, he loved hunting ducks & deer. John, the 3rd of 4 rambunctious Helling brothers, will be missed by family & friends. We are grateful for the caregivers at The Geneva Suites, Live Your Life PT & Our Lady of Peace Hospice. There will be no funeral service. He raised thousands of Christmas trees & suggests you plant a tree.
