John Paul Hendrickson, Jr., the sweetest guy on the face of the earth, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday July 23, 2023. He was 19 years old.
John Paul was born on September 25, 2003 in Estes Park, Colorado.The family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where John Paul’s sister, Jonae Cherokee Hendrickson was born. After spending some time in Fort Collins the family moved to Gill, Colorado and bought their first home with property. John Paul made many friends at the various schools he attended who meant the world to him. Among the many were Preston, Colby, and Alex. In 2018, the family moved to Fort Worth, Texas and eventually settled in San Antonio. John Paul was full of life, loved to make people, especially his friends and family, laugh, and loved people of all walks of life.
In his short life, John Paul was very aware of the injustices of the world and contemplated ways in which he could make a difference. For instance, he wanted to find a better solution to landfills to make the world a better place. He was a kind soul, very polite, and always grateful. He loved movies, video games, and going on adventurous outings. Prior to his passing he spent 3 wonderful months visiting his father in Nicaragua. John Paul attended Community Bible Church in San Antonio with the family every week. He was an amazing big brother to his little sister Jonae and would do anything for her. Anyone who met John Paul even for a moment could see what a kind person he was. John Paul will be missed immensely.
John Paul is survived by his parents, John and Jessie Mae Hendrickson, his sister, Jonae Cherokee Hendrickson, his Grandmother Jessie Schanck, his Great Aunt Gwen Lutzick, his Great Aunt Mary and Great Uncle Bob Leverette, his Great Uncle Don Schanck and Great Aunt Sarah, many cousins, many friends, and many great connections. A celebration of his life memorial will be held on Sunday August 20, 2023 from 2 - 4 PM with a meal at 21945 Langdon Landing, San Antonio, Texas 78261.
