John "Jack" Hickey

Age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at The Willows Assisted Living Facility surrounded by family. Jack was born June 7, 1940 in Bronx, New York, moved to Oakdale, PA with his family in 1975 and the past year resided at The Willows. Son of the late John and Marie Hickey. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth (Betty) Hickey and son Robert Hickey. Survived by son John (Tammy) Hickey and daughter Annmarie (Charles) Bucek, Grandsons Jeremy (Autumn) Hickey and Brandon Hickey and five great grandchildren. Jack worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance for 33 years. He found great pride in his Irish heritage and enjoyed going to Irish Festivals for many years with his daughter. Jack was also a sports enthusiast, took pleasure watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Notre Dame games with his sons. Jack was proud to be an American. The family would like to thank the staff at The Willows and Gallagher Hospice for their compassionate care. Per Jacks request, he did not want a viewing or funeral. He is to be cremated and placed with his beautiful wife at Resurrection Cemetery. A Celebration of his Life will be held for family and friends, at the Downey House, on Saturday, September 24th from 12-3:00 PM.
