John Hilsman Obituary

John Robert Hilsman, 54 of Rutledge, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2023. John was the son of the late, Donald Hilsman and Carol Branon Hilsman. He was born December 13, 1968 in Madison. John was married to Lisa Bishop on April 19, 1997. He was employed at Walton EMC. John loved his family and time spent on his motorcycle.

John Hilsman is survived by his wife, Lisa Hilsman and two sons, Jordan Robert Hilsman and Zachary Morgan Hilsman. He also leaves his siblings, Steve Hilsman & Angie, Stacy Farmer and Jennifer Baade. John is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 29 from 1-3 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM in the chapel. Interment will follow at the Madison City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in John's memory be made to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta (https://www.choa.org/give/giving) or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html).
