John Hobbs

JOHN (JACK) HOBBS, age 89, passed away suddenly on November 29, 2022. A gentle, gentleman. Jack was born in 1933 in Mahanoy City, PA where he went to grade school and high school, playing sports until he broke his leg in football. He went on to Wyoming Seminary in New York for two years after high school. He worked in the Catskills and Pocono resorts in the summers, went to Baldwin Wallace College in 1950-51 and was drafted into the Army in 1951. He returned to finish college in 1953 and graduated in 1957.
Jack met his wife, Mary Glazier, at Baldwin Wallace and they married in 1956. They shared 66 years together. Father of Jeffrey (deceased) and Jody Hayes (Patrick); and grandfather of three: Jack, Elizabeth and Valerie.
Jack worked for aluminum companies and lived in Berea, OH, San Francisco, Dallas and settled in Chagrin Falls. He was an avid 40-year member of a recovery group, as well as an avid handball player.
Jack loved his family most of all.

The family will receive friends at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 95 S. FRANKLIN ST., CHAGRIN FALLS, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2022 FROM 2 TO 6 P.M. Funeral Service Friday, December 9, 2022 at Federated Church at 4:00 p.m. Goodbye Mr. Hobbs!
