I worked a season as a painter for John. He taught me things about business, painting, and life that have kept food on our table through years of ministry. We had more fun at work than ought to be allowed and John was often in the middle of it! I am very grateful to him for his wisdom and friendship and will always remember him fondly.

Our sympathies to you, Pat, your family and friends. We rejoice with you in the confidence that John is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
John and I were deacons at SBBC and I always appreciated his grace, kindness, and solid wisdom as we worked through the common issues of church life. Some easy times and some challenging times as well. It was good to share such moments with a good man. John was a good man.
One special memory is the time John called us with an invitation to go out to dinner. He and Pat arranged for their daughter Susan to watch our children as we four enjoyed a delicious steak dinner at a very nice restaurant in Dunmore. What a special evening for Cookie and me. I was never to pay John back, but have extended John's kindness to other couples who have more need than resources (as Cookie and I were in those days).
May God grace the Hock family as they move through this moment in their lives.

I knew John from the Sr. Center in Clarks Summit. He was a great pool player, and we had fun challenging each other. He had such a wonderful personality, and everyone liked him and will miss him dearly. We will always remember him.
