John Anthony Hoft

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Anthony Hoft, who departed this life on April 27, 2025, at the age of 63.

Born on April 8, 1962, John was a devoted husband, friend, father, and a man of quiet strength. He will be remembered for his steady presence, warm heart, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda May Cole Hoft, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He also joins in rest his cherished mother-in-law, Nora Cole (nee Minnis), and father-in-law, Kenneth George Cole. 

He is survived by his children Ashley Nora Hoft Autin (Malcolm “Tony” Jr.), Lauren Aileen Hoft Tyrney (Joey), and Andrew Kenneth Hoft; brother-in-law Peter Andrew Cole (Robert Talbot); Grandchildren Abigail Grace Autin, Mackenzie Anne Autin, Cole Kenneth Tyrney, and Cade Timothy Tyrney.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, John made his home in Mandeville, Louisiana, with his wife Linda and their three children. John’s life was marked by his strong sense of responsibility and determination to make everyone around him smile. Whether offering a helping hand or simply sharing a laugh, he touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life on Wednesday, July 23 rd at St. Timothy on the Northshore in Mandeville, Louisiana. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00am, continue with the service at 11:00am, followed by a burial service for John & Linda immediately following.
