After a long battle with cervical cancer, Dalila Monterrosa Melancon of Metairie La, born on May 11, 1943, peacefully continued on her journey to meet her creator on Friday February 13, 2026 at 10:36am.
Dalila was predeceased by her husband, Warren August Melancon Jr; her sister Aida Monterrosa-Huete; her brother Fernando Vallecio and her parents Pedro Monterrosa and Berta Matute-Sosa. Dalila is survived by her three children, two granddaughters, a brother and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her but will be remembered as being a very strong lady with an incredible work ethic, who loved flowers and had a radiant smile.
Dalila Melancon's Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church on the 20th of February. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with mass to follow at 12:30 PM.
