Robin Melancon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory - Broussard on Jan. 6, 2026.
Robin Joseph Melancon, born on September 20, 1973, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2025.

A true jack of all trades, Robin was gifted with his hands and known for his strong work ethic. He kept himself busy and took pride in tackling any challenge, especially mechanical ones-there was very little he couldn't fix. He enjoyed woodworking and was proud of the pieces he created, but his greatest passion was always on the water. Whether working or relaxing, that is where he could most often be found. At the time of his passing, Robin was employed as an alligator meat processor, and in his free time he loved fishing and crawfishing.

Known for his unique sense of humor, Robin almost always knew how to crack a joke-often at the most inappropriate moment-bringing laughter to those around him. Robin always showed up for the people he loved and was an especially proud father of his two sons who he deeply loved and cherished.

Robin is survived by his son, Trey Melancon (Abby); his sisters, Francine Melancon Allemand (Kim), Rachael Melancon Champagne (Jonathan); brother, Rammie Melancon; grandson Christopher Melancon; nieces, Sloane McNew, Shawna Melancon, Lacey Champagne, Megan Champagne, Chasity Melancon, Sadie Dautreuil (Anthony), Skyler Crosby, Taylor Crosby and Morgan Theriot; and nephews, Jonathan Champagne Jr. and Logan Melancon; as well as numerous other great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robin Theriot.; his father, Larry Melancon; his mother, Mazel Vicknair Melancon; brother, Larry Melancon Jr.; sister, Nicole Melancon; nephew, Sye Allemand; maternal grandparents, Theresa Escoyne Lasseigne and Leroy Vicknair; and his paternal grandparents, Louis Melancon Jr. and Hazel Hebert Melancon.

Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at Cecil Memorial Park, Park Pavillion, located at W Parks St. in Parks, LA, from 11AM-2PM.
