It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deborah Goodwin Alexander on the 20th of January, 2026 at home in Covington, Louisiana, comforted by her family.
Deborah Goodwin Alexander was born on the 6th of September, 1956 to Walter and Joan Goodwin in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her family moved to Virginia, but later she struck out for New Orleans where she lived, loved, and found a rewarding career. She dedicated her life to helping other in the medical field. After working more than 40 years in the medical field at Touro Infirmary and Baptist Memorial Medical Center she retired from Touro in 2022.
Along the way she found love, marrying Kenneth Alexander. Together they transformed their house into a home raising Kristin Alexander Cuesta (Ross) and Hope Elise Alexander (Justin). Their family grew with addition of two grandchildren, Bear Alexander Cuesta and Ella Alexander Sherwood. She is also survived by her sister Anne Elizabeth Goodwin and brother Walter Edwin Goodwin.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading, practicing yoga, being around her friends and family, checking out the newest restaurants, and simply laughing.
We want to thank the healthcare staff at M.D. Anderson, Ochsner St. Tammany Hospital and St. Tammany Hospice for their dedicated and loving care.
